30 Jan At The Service of the Mystery
Peace be with you,
As we approach the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple on February 2nd (also known as “Candle-Mass” or “The Encounter”) one may be reminded of their first encounter with the Mystery of God. St. Simeon and Prophetess Anna represent US who are given the gift of revelation, for they saw for themselves that God is not merely an Absolute nor a Source or Higher Power, but the divine Person. The joy of the feast to all.
In our effort to share the good things we have been given, it is necessary to keep in mind WHY we go out and speak on behalf of the faith.
In focusing our attention on the why, we may use this as encouragement along the way:
It is not about what I want to tell them,
Nor is it about what they want,
But it is about what we need.
It’s not about me,
Nor is it how it’s not about me,
It’s about someone else.
It is not for my own sake,
but for all.
“What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.”
